Matthew Field is a highly experienced communication consultant who has combined a diverse acting career with over 10 years’ experience working as a solicitor.
Matthew originally trained as an actor at The Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, before retraining as a solicitor and practising for ten years, mainly as a Claimant Personal Injury specialist. Matthew worked for several law firms, including Trethowans.
In 2005 Matthew completed a post graduate classical acting course at LAMDA and has since worked in television, theatre, film and voice over, including on the BBC and at The Old Vic.
Combining his legal, acting and business skills, Matthew works extensively in the training sector, where his law firm clients include Baker & McKenzie, Eversheds, Clyde & Co, Withers, Mayer Brown and The Law Society. He also works with a wide variety of corporate and governmental clients including HSBC, Department of Health, Home Office, Financial Conduct Authority, EDF, National Grid and the RSPCA.
Matthew uses his unique mixture of skills as a trainer, facilitator and roleplayer and is very experienced in forum theatre, roleplay, realplay, hot seating, facilitation, giving feedback and improvisation.
Matthew puts the key to his success down to his ability to build rapport and trust quickly and create a safe, relaxed environment within which to allow the delegates to practice their communication skills and hopefully have a little bit of fun along the way.
