As a facilitator at PCA Law, Iain Christie combines his expertise as a barrister, mediator, coach and professional actor. His training qualifications include some of the latest thinking in Leadership and Communications.
Iain’s legal experience includes 10 years as an in-house lawyer at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and 15 years in independent practice as a barrister at the leading media and entertainment law chambers 5RB. During his time in the Diplomatic Service, Iain represented the United Kingdom in international treaty negotiations at the United Nations and Council of Europe, acted for the Government in over 40 cases before the European Court of Human Rights and was part of the team that drafted the Human Rights Act 1998.
Iain trained as an actor at Drama Studio London in 2010. He has appeared in several short films, on TV and in numerous plays. The highlight of his acting career to date has been understudying James Fox in a two-handed comedy, Dear Lupin, on a UK tour and at The Apollo Theatre where he made his debut on the West End stage in 2015.
Iain is an accredited mediator and coach and certified both as an Imago Facilitator and as a Daring Way™ Facilitator. He is also Secretary of the Civil Mediation Council, a Bencher of the Inner Temple, a Director of IMPRESS (the Independent Monitor for the Press) and founding co-editor of the leading textbook on Privacy and the Media.
