Alison Nicol brings years of legal practice experience to her work as a communications consultant, as well as a background in professional acting.
Alison is an experienced employment lawyer, having worked both in private practice and in-house from 2002 until 2010. She qualified into Simmons & Simmons‘ prestigious Employment department and advised on all aspects of the employment relationship from appointment to dismissal. Her contentious experience includes a high-value breach of contract claim in the High Court and numerous unfair dismissal Tribunal claims.
During her years working with Simmons, she also enjoyed a number of client secondments. The first was with InBev UK as a general member of its busy in-house legal team. She was also seconded to UBS as a member of its in-house legal team as well as its Employee Relations team. Alison also has subsequent in-house experience as an Employment Adviser on BNP Paribas‘ Employee Relations team.
Following her legal career, Alison re-trained as a professional actor. She subsequently established her own touring Theatre Company, Weird Sisters, which have played in many fringe theatres throughout the UK in addition to delivering school workshops for children. Alison is also a Voice Actor and can currently be heard voicing campaigns for Macmillian Cancer Research and as the voice of Van Gogh’s mother in the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam.
Since joining PCA Law as a communication consultant, Alison has delivered training programme to a range of UK and international law firms, including Charles Russell Speechlys, Freeths, Nabarro, Norton Rose Fulbright and Shakespeare Martineau.
